Magistrate Court

Magistrate Court is the court of first resort for many Civil Disputes including County Ordinance Violations, Dispossessories, Personal Property Foreclosures, Civil Suits ($15,000 and under), Prewarrant Hearings, Garnishments, Abandoned Vehciles, Animal Control cases and Misdemeanor Deposit Account Fraud. In criminal matters Magistrate Court conducts Preliminary hearings, First Appearance hearings, Search Warrants and Arrest Warrants.

No jury trials are conducted in Magistrate Court; civil cases are often argued by the parties themselves, rather than by attorneys.

The first step of most legal processes begins with paperwork. But we’ve got a free tool (Forms Generator) that can help you find the correct form and fill it out.
