Water Utility

Water service is provided by the Haralson County Water for unincorporated areas of the county and the city of Buchanan.  The water authority provides clean fresh drinking water to more than 12,000 customers.

For businesses and residences with existing service, there is a $50 connection fee to start new service and a deposit of $100 for property owners and $150 for renters. The minimum water bill for up to 2,000 gallons is $17. Meters are read during the last week of the month and bills are mailed on the first business day of the month. Payment is due on the 15th, or the next business day. Accounts with a balance of $10 after the due date are considered late and a $10 late fee is added. Accounts with an unpaid balance after 45 day from the billing date are subject to termination of service without notice.

The water authority contracts with Nexbillpay for online and telephone payments and a convenience fee may apply. Cash, check and debit or credit cards (VISA, Mastercard and Discover only) are accepted in the office with a service fee of up to 2.75% added to credit card payments. Payments can also can also be drafted from the customer's bank account on the 10th day of the month with no additional fee.
