There are lots of reasons why small towns are luring an increasing number of families. They include a strong sense of community where people know each other and everyone’s a neighbor, where it’s cheaper to live with property taxes usually much lower, and where there’s less traffic and noise and cleaner air. But most important is safety. We want to live where our kids can safely play outside, where our property is safe, and where we don’t have to worry about rampant crime. Small towns are much safer than big cities. And our the dedicated men and women in public safety play a big role in keeping our county safe.

These are the men and women who never sleep. The first responders. The ones who run toward trouble. The dedicated employees of the various Public Safety Agencies in Haralson County , committed to protecting the safety and security of all who live and work in our county or come here to visit.

Public Safety personnel are responsible for keeping our residents safe from emergencies and both man-made and natural disasters. Departments include the Sheriff's Office, the Fire Department, the ambulance service, the Emergency Management Agency, the forestry department, the E-911 center and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Personnel are vigilant in patrolling county roads and highways and protecting county properties, including homes, businesses and key facilities such as the Haralson County Courthouse.

These men and women serve as an ever-present resource for local law-enforcement and emergency services in Haralson County and serve our county 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Public Safety personnel also remain at the forefront in protecting our residents and critical infrastructure from acts of domestic and international terrorism.

Disaster and tragedy can strike at any time but we are lucky here in Haralson County to have real-life superheroes who protect us in and care for us the face of danger. These every day heroes have the courage to run toward danger while others are running from it.I

The people of Haralson County are protected by the sheriff's office, three police departments, three fire departments, an ambulance service, forestry commission firefighters and EMA/Homeland Security.
