Public Works

The Haralson County Public Works Department provides a variety of infrastructure-related services. Its primary responsibilities include the maintenance of roads, bridges, road signs, drainage, and vegetation control. The Public Works Department exists to provide safe and efficient movement of people and goods within the county and is committed to maintaining  well-kept and safe roadways.

The majority of maintenance is performed on a rotating schedule; however, residents may request assistance by calling the Public Works Department directly at 770-646-3278 or complete this Road Repair Request form online.

The county is not responsible for the maintenance of state highways. State highways are maintained by the DOT only. Please call them at 770-646-5522 for any state highway related issues. County maintained roads are categorized as roads registered with GDOT on the Haralson County, GA Road Index.

Terry Edwards, Haralson County Public Works director states, "We take great pride in the unified relationship we have established with the other departments of Haralson County. In conjunction with the Emergency Management Agency, Fire Department and the Sheriff's Office, Public Works is prepared to respond to threatening weather conditions and take action to rectify roadway situations (on county maintained roads only) that may be hazardous to Haralson County residents."
